Our current curriculum, Promoting Health Among Teens (PHAT), is an evidence-based, comprehensive abstinence and safer sex intervention that equips youth with tools to prevent pregnancy, reduce repeat pregnancies, and lower the risk of contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Young mothers deserve honest, effective, and empowering communication to help them navigate the challenges of motherhood. Our founder combines her life experience with wisdom—delivered through an energetic and relatable speaking style—to ignite and inspire young mothers to keep it moving!
Parenting is a challenge for even the most knowledgeable parent. For young and teen mothers, parenting also requires a significant lifestyle change. YMDQ offers application-based parenting classes to support young mothers with the most difficult—yet most important and rewarding—job they will ever have.
Healthy relationships are vital to the development of both the mother and her child(ren). However, it is important to nurture the emotional and physical well-being of all family members. We teach effective communication skills so young mothers can engage with their baby’s father and grandparents, fostering strong connections that support the entire family.
We offer the following relationship building classes in both group and one-on-one settings:
• Dealing with my Baby’s Father
• Dealing with my Mother now that I am a Mother
• Dealing with my Father now that I am a Mother
Our desire is to bridge gaps between youth, their family unit, and the school community. Our programs and services are designed to instill hope, meet fundamental academic needs, and provide life skills to propel participants along the pathway of success. Research suggests that when basic survival needs are met, students perform better academically, socially, and physically.
Parents of young moms are encouraged to participate in classes to strengthen the entire family!
Your generous gift provides valuable resources to young mothers in the Houston area!
