Keep It Moving!!
Always Abstinence, if not, Safer Sex
Our current curriculum Promoting Health Among Teens (PHAT), is an evidence based comprehensive abstinence and safer sex intervention that gives youth the tools they need to prevent pregnancy, reduce repeat pregnancies, reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
Skills for Everyday Life (Life-Skills)
We offer a program that is our desire to bridge gaps between youth, their family unit, and the school community. Our programs and services are designed to meet fundamental academic needs and life skills that will propel participants onto a pathway of hope and destined success. Research suggests that when students’ basic survival needs are met, they are more inclined to perform better academically, socially and physically. Parents are also encouraged to participate in classes offered to strengthen the entire family.
Motivational Speaking
YMDQ understands the importance of providing effective and productive communication when dealing with life challenges of a young mother. YMDQ’s founder strongly believes that combining life experience with wisdom coupled with an energetic and relational speaking style will ignite and inspire young mothers to move forward and encourage them to “keep it moving”.
Parenting Classes
YMDQ facilitates application-based parenting classes. As we all know, parenting is even a challenge for the most knowledgeable parents, therefore, it is definitely a life style challenge for young mothers. Parenting is the most difficult job parents will ever do, however, it is also the most important.
Relationship Building
YMDQ believes that healthy relationships are the key in the development of both the mother and her child(ren). We train and teach young women how to deal with both the father of the baby and the grandparents of the baby. All relationship components are crucial as they affect both the emotional and physical well-being of all parties involved.
The following relationship building classes are available in a group or one-on-one setting:
• Dealing with my the baby’s father
• Dealing with my mother now that I am a mother
• Dealing with my father now that I am a mother
